Event Information

Title: Process Engineering: Utilizing Knowledge and Critical Thinking to Solve Molding Defects

Description:

Ask about molding defects or read process troubleshooting guides, and both will tell you various ways to react to a defect. This results in a Process Tweaking approach to troubleshooting through "button pushing". On the contrary, Process Engineering solves the defect by critically thinking through the interaction of the plastic material, mold design, part design, and the molding process. For example, the corrective action for a short shot could differ based on the location of the defect in the part. This presentation will discuss the Process Engineering approach to troubleshooting defects that can stop the Process Tweaking in your companies.

Type: Molding Conference
